ATLANTA, GA (July 20, 2004) -- A Forrester Research report says smaller businesses will increase their IT spending by 6.6% this year and an Atlanta IT company's clients are in line to surpass that expectation. COMNEXIA, Atlanta's leading single source provider of computer network and Internet services for small and fast-growth businesses, has seen a 17.5 percent increase in customer base in first two quarters of 2004.

These new customers are also making larger purchases, according to COMNEXIA President and CEO Mike Wilson. "In the first four months of this year, more than 45% of our new customers have implemented new servers. We definitely feel the upswing of business and have expanded our sales and IT team as a result."

As the company’s customer base has grown so has the company’s number of employees. Joining the COMNEXIA team this month are: Emarlos Whitfield - a Citrix Certified Network Engineer; Angela Dash - a Sales Associate who relocated to Atlanta from South Carolina; and Robert Bouchard - a Sales Associate.

"Overall, small- and medium-sized businesses are more positive about the business climate and more optimistic about where their industries are going," said Meredith Child, author of the Forrester survey. She added that these businesses are especially eager to spend on hardware--both servers and PCs--as well as on more bandwidth, and they're planning on dropping some serious dollars on security, according to Information Week.

"Our upcoming company 'recognition barbecue' wasn't even planned by management," explains Mike Wilson, CEO of the 13 year-old-company, "The sales team told me that they want to thank the Tech Team, because 'without their expertise, they'd have nothing to sell.' I think the Tech Team was more honored that their peers thought so highly of them than if I had arranged it."
